तुम रुसूमात को ईमान बनाती क्यूँ हो

There is a beautiful poem by Sahir called 'yaksuuii' which means 'carefree' or 'solitude'. In that poem towards the end, he writes

mai.n samajhtaa huu.n taqaddus ko tamaddun kaa fareb 

tum rusuumaat ko iimaan banaatii kyuu.n ho 

मैं समझता हूँ तक़द्दुस को तमद्दुन का फ़रेब 

तुम रुसूमात को ईमान बनाती क्यूँ हो
