अब एक आध क़दम का हिसाब क्या रखिये 

अभी तक तो वही फ़ासला लगे है मुझे 

ab ek aadh qadam kaa hisaab kyaa rakhiye 

abhee tak to vahee Faaslaa lage hai mujhe

If we ignore the few steps we have moved forward

I feel we are still at the same place where we started

You get this feeling sometimes during traffic jam on the Delhi Gurgaon road. But you could say this metaphorically about a lot of things when you look at India since Independence.
