विद्या विवादाय धनं मदाय, शक्तिः परेषाम् परिपीडनाय

vidyaa vivaadaaya dhanam madaaya, shaktihi pareeshaam paripiiDanaaya

khalasya, saadhoho vipariitam eetat; gyaanaaya daanaya cha rakshaNaaya

विद्या विवादाय धनं मदाय, शक्तिः परेषाम् परिपीडनाय, 

खलस्य, साधोः विपरीतं एतत्; ज्ञानाय दानाय च रक्षणाय 

Education for the sake of arguments, wealth for ostentation, power to torment other people,

That's for the bad people, for the decent folk it's the right opposite; 

Education for knowledge, wealth for charity and power to protect people.
