Wishing long life was relevant in an era where the life expectancy was 35 and humans  had 15 kids in the hope (like crocodiles) at least 2-3 will reach adulthood. With the average life expectancy pushing 77 and annuity rates dropping like Saurav Ganguly's auction price, just wish for health and happiness. It is not the age, but the mileage.
